Over the last few years, the traditional highbay light has seen a large transformation. The good old days of High Intensity Discharge (HID) or T5 highbays has given way to the new LED products that are far more energy efficient.
Traditionally, Metal Halide lamps (one of the HID family types) were constructed round in shape because the bulb itself was round. It was not possible to have the HID lamps made rectangular like the fluorescent lamps.
The microwave motion sensor detects motion accurately and is able to control hold time and light levels in effort to save power. When combined with a daylight sensor, even greater power savings can be achieved.
